Barney has been interested in photography for over 50 years. Because of an early interest in entomology, he started taking closeup photographs of insects. Later, an interest in landscape photography developed, followed by glamour photography. The challenge of learning Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom was accepted, and are now part of the workflow. As proficiency grew, the opportunity to create composite images presented itself, and this became a special interest.

Composites allow good control of lighting the model, since this is done in a studio environment. Once the studio background is masked, the model is placed in front of a chosen background, which is typically a high dynamic range image. Once the model is blended into the scene, a very unique portrait can be achieved.
