Iron-On Transfers to Poke Fun at Friends

A few years ago in Salt Lake City, Utah, I snapped a photo of my friend Bill Warner in a food court of a mall. As luck (good or bad - I am not sure which) would have it, I caught Bill while he was blinking his eyes. The resulting image was humorous: it made my handsome, super-intelligent friend look like a dweeb. An iron-on transfer was printed and ironed onto a plain white T-shirt. Thereafter, whenever Bill submitted an article about beetles to the Scarabs newsletter, we would include an image of one of our so-called "employees" modelling the shirt in lieu of showing a nice portrait of Bill. Here are samples of some of those photographs:
